Josephine Okujeni is a Nigerian songstress, poetess and actress based in Los Angeles California. She melds traits of Blues, Afro eccentric , reggae, alternative pop and soul. Her name  ‘Josephine’  has a french flavor and inspires her music as she sings  in both English, French and Yoruba Language. Josephine Okujeni moved from Nigeria to join her Father who resides in the United States in 2014 and after living with him for about a year, she made the big journey to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career.

Upon moving to Los Angeles, she began to pursue a career in music after experiencing a life changing event that became her awakening, She has also performed in popular venues like ‘Hotel Cafe’ and Mint La.  She scored features in various TV shows like ‘Marvel Runaways’, ‘Scandal’ and made cameos in Music videos like Cardi B ‘Press’, Don Toliver ’No Idea’ and gained major roles in National commercials.  Josephine Okujeni initially went by the stage name ‘Oshun mi’, a name coined from a Nigerian Deity who is one of her major source of inspiration since she played the ‘goddess’ in a stage play back in the University of Ibadan 2011 as ‘Iyalode’.

Her music is centered on the power of the divine feminine and embodies sensuality at its peak. However, she decided to use her real name Josephine and represent herself, portraying her music in a light that reveal who she truly is and her movement to unleash the goddess within through  music.
